"Ron Weasleby"
Casting
How did you hear about the original auditions?
From a friend (Pete Snell) who couldnt make it to auditions.
What stories can you tell about the audition experience? Were you nervous? Was it fun? Scary?
Well, I went just for the experience not expecting a part since it was my first screen audition. So, I was a bit nervous. Callbacks were so much fun. Everyone became friends so fast, and it was hilarious.
Before filming, had you read the Harry Potter books or seen the actual movies?
Yes, I own the books and have seen the movies.
If so, did that influence how you acted your character?
Not really, since we cut the British stuff.
Are you anything like your character, or, which Harry Potter character are you most like?
Umm, a little, Ron was always messing around, or maybe that was just an excuse for me to mess around.
Have your friends ever said you look like your character?
Yes, and so did everyone involved with this movie. A couple people said I looked more like a Ron than an Erik.
Will they after they see the film?
Uh, probably.
On Set
What were your first impressions on your first day of shooting?
I was like, robes on a golf course. I MADE IT!!!
What is your favorite memory from being on the set?
Probably discovering that Christina was easily scared, and Nate and I kind of went to town with that, with some occasional directorial assistance.
Aside from yourself, who was your favorite member of the cast?
Hmm, aside from myself? i'd probably say Nate. Fun times garage-saling.
Did you have a favorite crew person?
Tony. Tony was the man. He was there early and stayed late, and we would have candid chats with him over the mics. He is a cool guy, and everyone loves him. Jeremy was ok, too.
Is this your first film project or have you worked on many other movies in the past?
Unless you count movies I make with my friends, this is the first.
Most importantly, did you have fun?
I guess you could say that.
Are there any other stories from set you want to share?
I loved how we shot at that mansion while the lady of the house was gone because she didnt want a lot of people at her house. That was great.
The Future
Do you plan on returning next summer to shoot Harry Putter 2?
Definitely
The script for Harry Putter 2 is currently in its third draft, but if you could write one special scene to be included, what would it be, and how would you make it funny?
Well, we have discussed the idea of a music video..., but usually I just add little things to the script to insert my own humor into it.
If you had the chance to work side by side with any actor (local, Hollywood, union or not, anyone), who would it be?
hmm, there's a lot, but I'd probably say...William H. Macy.
